If 2016 was a year full of unexpected surprises, there’s more to come in 2017 — especially when it comes to home design.

Fireplaces, butcher’s block kitchen center islands, and even sconces and baseboards made from wood that has been taken from other places combine familiarity with the unexpected. Expect this trend to continue in 2017.
Marble Restoration New York — A Move Toward Simplicity
Busy, cluttered interior spaces are out. Instead, many homeowners are looking to simpler, more streamlined design for their interiors.
The “Hygge” style out of Denmark is growing in popularity. It’s based on the Danish ritual of treasuring the simple pleasures life has to offer. From a design perspective, this can mean ultra-calming colors, and soft touches such as cozy knits and bare wood surfaces.
Marble Restoration New York — Faux Marble Wallpaper
Another trend we found on Pinterest was faux marble wallpaper. Like the stenciling craze that was popular a decade or so ago, some homeowners are turning to inexpensive wallpaper designed to look like real marble, including the requisite cracks and shadings.
While this may be an option for designers on a budget, at Love Marble we prefer the real thing. Still, if you can’t afford actual marble walls in your home, fake marble wallpaper is at least a step in the right direction.
There are lots of new design ideas out there, but the classic look of marble will never go out of style.
